Sea-to-Sky Trainings
In Squamish Nation, British Columbia, Right To Play’s training impact was scaled UP this winter! Community Mentors (CMs) Ianna, Roland and Nolan work hard to not only deliver the PLAY program for youth in their respective communities, but to support a number of local youth workers in Squamish Nation (which includes both North Vancouver and the Valley). Given this responsibility, they invited all staff that support Squamish Nation youth centres to attend training on Right To Play fundamentals.
Responding to this community request, Right To Play held special trainings for the Community Mentors and youth workers in December and February. The new Community Mentor for the PLAY program in Lil’wat Nation was also invited.
Through this special training, Right To Play reached 15 youth workers across 3 communities, who returned home equipped with a variety of fundamental knowledge and strategies.
