Winter 2019-20 Remote Trainings
In the spirit of continual learning and building strong peer connections, Right To Play began a series of online Remote Training webinars for Community Mentors in January.
The series was curated based on requests from Community Mentors. The first three webinars engaged Community Mentors on a variety of topics:

At this Remote Training webinar, Community Mentors had the opportunity to:
- Explore the impacts of their program
- Learn strategies for engaging the broader community in their program
- Better understand how outcomes can guide the structure of their weekly program
“[The] training session gave me an idea to develop connection with wider community and […] figure out some practical strategies to integrate our pillar into program.”

Held in partnership with Canucks Autism Network, this webinar helped Community Mentors:
- Describe ‘invisible disabilities’ and how they can impact child and youth behaviour in programs
- Demonstrate a range of coaching tools to support positive behaviour practices

This Remote Training webinar allowed Community Mentors to:
- Explore creative ways to facilitate Youth-Led Initiatives and events
- Learn and share ways to create opportunities for youth to lead within programs
“I liked that I could scroll and see other CM inputs as well [at the training]. I was able to get some other ideas for programming this way.”
