Chair - Right To Play Canadian Advisory Board and Group Head and CEO, Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets

Jake Lawrence is Chief Executive Officer and Group Head, Global Banking and Markets, responsible for the Bank’s Global Banking and Markets business line and strategy across its global footprint. Jake joined Scotiabank in 2002 and has held progressively senior roles in Finance, Group Treasury and Global Banking and Markets. Specifically, he was Co-Group Head of Global Banking and Markets with specific responsibility for the Capital Markets Business; Executive Vice President and Head of Global Banking and Markets in the U.S.; Scotiabank’s Deputy Treasurer as well as Senior Vice President, Investor Relations.

Jake is a member of the Advisory Council for Women in Capital Markets. In 2021, he was appointed Chair of the Ontario Housing Affordability Task Force to explore the issues facing housing affordability in Ontario and provide recommendations that address market housing supply and affordability in the province. With his two sons, he is actively involved with youth sports. He was recruited for the Canadian Advisory Board for Right To Play in 2021.
