Wherever there is inequality, there is a girl striving to overcome it. Wherever there is suffering, there is a girl with the power to change it. And wherever there is progress to be made, there are girls and women coming together to make it happen.

Right To Play is a proud supporter of the Women Deliver 2019 conference being held in Vancouver, Canada on June 3rd to June 6th at 375 Water Street. Women Deliver brings together girls and women as global advocates to champion gender equality with a focus on health and rights. This year’s theme is “Power. Progress. Change”.

We work in 15 countries around the world to advance the rights of girls, ensuring they are protected, educated, and empowered so they can find the confidence to participate fully and lead, in learning and in life. We teach girls that they are the equal of boys, that they can say no to unwanted sex, and to resist child marriage and female genital mutilation. Our “We Rise” campaign is inspired by the work of two girls from Mali involved with our programs who became activists working to abolish child marriage, which disproportionately impacts girls.

We are inviting the public to join us at two special events at the conference. The first is PowerUp, an incredible evening of games, dance performances, interactive activities, and healthy snacks celebrating the power of children and youth in the Steamworks Uber Lounge of the Canada Pavilion. The second event is Activate Women Deliver, an incredible workshop for youth leaders that will take the lessons and ideas of Women Deliver 2019 and transform them into concrete action plans for the year ahead. The event is open to youth of all genders who want to get involved in improving the status of girls and women globally. The workshop will be on Thursday, June 6th, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Steamworks Uber Lounge. Spaces are limited, so sign up now to register!
