Oslo, [18 January 2026] – Right To Play Norge is proud to announce that Emil Gukild is becoming the organization’s newest ambassador. As a former journalist at NRK and now a full-time cross-country skier, Emil represents a fresh and engaging addition to Right To Play’s ambassador team. He is committed to helping ensure that more children gain access to life-changing play.
From Journalism to Full-Time Cross-Country Skiing
In recent years, Emil Gukild has transitioned from being a well-known TV host and journalist at NRK to pursuing cross-country skiing as a full-time athlete. After a long career in the media industry, he chose in adulthood to follow his dream of fully committing to sport, and this season marks his first as a professional cross-country skier. This unconventional career path has given him valuable insight into the importance of activity and community in fostering both personal development and performance.
Play, Learning and Inclusion in Focus
Right To Play is an international humanitarian organization that uses play and physical activity as tools to protect, educate, and empower children. Ambassadors play an important role in raising awareness about the organization’s work and engaging even more supporters, helping to highlight the value of play-based learning for children’s development.
Right To Play is also the official charity partner of several Norwegian sporting events in which Emil plans to participate, including Birkebeinerrennet, Sentrumsløpet, and 3 toppsløpet Jeløya. Through these platforms, Emil will help promote Right To Play’s message, engage both participants and spectators, and strengthen awareness and support for the organization’s work.
