Sole to Soul is a Step-A-Thon
May 24, 2021
Sole to Soul is a Step-A-Thon virtual event created by the Playmakers for kids, adults, families, corporate teams – really anyone.
Sole to Soul is a 10-day Step-A-Thon. We are challenging participants to step an average of 10km per day totaling 100km. Our goal is to raise a dollar for every step taken during the event. We’re awarding one point for every step of support whether that is distance, donations, social media shares, or completing a Playtime (challenge). Prizes will be available.
Join us on May 25th with Canadian Olympian Evan Dunfee to stay connected, active, and have fun while helping millions of children around the world, including right here in Canada. For the Sole to Soul Step-A-Thon, we will use stories about Right To Play children and kilometres they travel for everyday tasks that will be revealed as participants reach milestones on their way to 100km.
Meet our host, the Sole to Soul Step-A-Thon is brought to you by Evan Dunfee, Canadian Olympic 50km Race-Walker.
His career took off in 2013 when he made his first World Championship team, finishing 36th in the 50km walk. In 2014 he broke the Canadian Record in the 20km walk, with his still personal best (but no longer Canadian Record) 1:20:12, finishing 11th at the World Team Championships and leading Canada to 4th as a team (in 2020 he was upgraded to 10th and our team to Silver).
Fast forward a couple years... With the Olympic Games postponed until 2021, 2020 was a year for him to get his body healthy and build a base with which to launch himself off of in 2021 as he aims for another performance he can be proud of at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
